A Window into Pete Ford’s Commercial Jingle Work, Indianapolis, late 1980’s
Below is a sampling of my work at Bennett Music, a recording studio in Indianapolis in the late 1980’s.
Bennett Music successfully found a niche in the less-expensive end of commercial music jingles and sales/training film original soundtrack music market in the greater Indianapolis area. I was employed there for approximately 18 months between undergraduate and graduate school. Each of the segments heard below involved me in some capacity, but obviously I cannot take credit for everything you hear here.
All of the vocal work and other voice talent (announcing, etc.) was done by professionals who did that in their own right.
But most of the compositional work and background instruments you will hear (midi keyboards, drums, bass, and some acoustic instrumental work) is mine. Eric Poole, Joe Bennett, Bob Haggard and Danny Williams were also involved in much of this.
Hard to believe this was my main gig thirty years ago!
